Crude Oil Storage Terminal – API 650 Tanks and LACT Units
KED India Pvt. Ltd. successfully executed the design and development of a Crude Oil Storage Terminal featuring two 100,000 BBL Internal Floating Roof (IFR) tanks, a Pumping Station for crude oil transfer, and 12 Lease Automated Custody Transfer (LACT) units.
Inputs from Client
- Internal Floating Roof (IFR) tanks designed per API 650 standards.
- Preliminary plant layout inputs.
- Requirements for LACT units for transfer of ownership.
- Booster pump capacity to pump into pipeline pumps.
- Fire protection system specifications.
KED Scope of Work
- Process Design & Diagrams: Developed Process Design Basis, Process Flow Diagram (PFD), and Process & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID).
- Tank & LACT Unit Integration: Designed two IFR tanks (100,000 BBL capacity), 12 LACT units (385 GPM) with 8 units designated per tank.
- Pump Sizing & Layout: Sized two 3500 GPM booster pumps for circulation and transfer to pipeline pumps.
- Equipment Layout: Prepared detailed equipment and piping layout.
- Fire Protection System: Designed and developed a fire protection system compliant with NFPA guidelines.
